The purpose of the role is to provide support and maintenance of Truphone systems.
In this role the Infrustructure Engineer will support and maintain systems hardware, software, virtualization, storage and related infrastructure.
Key responsibilities
•Support Truphone systems and supporting infrastructure;
•Deploying automated build systems to quickly respond to business requirements;
•System hardening, working with our security team and using CIS standard;
•Set a high standard for documentation of systems;
•Maintain system efficiency;
•Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, data and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups;
•OS patches and upgrades release review on a regular basis;
•Evaluate and modify systems performance;
•Troubleshoot reported problems;
Skills and Experience required
•A minimum of 5 years as systems administrator;
•Administration of Red Hat Linux and Windows Server based systems;
•Administration of virtualized environments based in VMware ESXi;
•Administration of storage systems like NetApp;
•Working knowledge of automation tools such as terraform, ansible or puppet;
•Working knowledge of Software Defined Networks;
•Exposure to scripting technology;
•OpenLDAP, Active Directory and Bind DNS know how;
•Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language;
•Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills;
•Ability to work on many tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment;
•Understanding of essential TCP/IP protocols: TCP, UDP, ICMP, SMTP, SNMP, LDAP, DNS, NTP and others;
•Working knowledge of public cloud offerings and concepts, AWS, Azure, OCI;
•Understanding of fundamental hardware concepts: disk, memory, CPU, NIC, HBA, firmware, RAID, performance concepts (I/O, paging, swapping, system calls), iSCSI, Fiber Channel, Ethernet;
•Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail;
